The first leg of the first semi final was a game of two halves. Banca Monte Parma Crociati were firmly in front by half time, leading 13-3 from a try from Lovotti converted by Anvera, who added to his tally of two penalties; even being a man down in the bin could not stop Crociati from racing ahead. Femi-CZ Rovigo mustered just one penalty kick from Bustos.
Rugby Rovigo came out in the second half with passion and determination to overturn their 10 point deficit, and not to disrupt their unbeaten run of fifteen consecutive wins.
Crociati managed to acquire a further two yellow cards for insubordination and no more points. Rovigo managed a try from Mahoney, another from Van Niekerk, two conversions and another penalty from Bustos.
The thousand-strong Rovigo fans erupted in Parma to celebrate the spectacular comeback, and the team were now ready to take on Crociati in their own backyard to seal their path to the finals at the end of May.

PETRARCA PADOVA picked up not just win over Estra I Cavalieri Prato but a bonus point with four tries, taking a firm lead in the first leg of the Eccellenza semi final.
Petrarca opened the scoring with two penalty kicks from Mercier, but Wakarua quickly equalised for Prato with two penalties of his own. A try from Vezzosi took the visitors into the lead, but Costa-Repetto retaliated with one of his own and the teams ended the first half level at 11-11.
A drop goal from Walsh momentarily returned the lead to the home team, but a second try from Vezzosi , which this time Wakarua converted, put Prato in front again.
But from here on in it was downhill for the visitors; Prato’s captain Giovanchelli was sin-binned for ten vital minutes, and Petrarca took full advantage of the extra man. Barbini, Bortolussi and Walsh all crossed the try line during the yellow card penalty taking the final score to 31-18.
Prato tried desperately to recover in the final once Giovanchelli returned to the park, but magnificent defence meant the could not effect a change no matter how hard they tried.
Petrarca go into the second leg of the semi final with a strong advantage, and Prato will have to mount a huge comeback with a minimum of four tries in the return leg if they have any hope of making the final.

FEMI CZ ROVIGO DELTA convincingly beat Banca Monte Parma Crociati 24-9 to confirm their place in the Eccellenza Final on May 28th.
The first half saw just two penalties conceded on each side that Bustos and Anversa deftly put between the posts to take the teams into the break at half time 6-6.
The second half saw Crociati gift a further two penalties within 12 minutes, punished by Bustos to take a 12-6 lead before Anversa kicked his final points. Rugby Rovigo were clearly the superior side throughout, and their skill showed when first Montauriol scored a try converted by Bustos, and then with the ball still in play after the clock had ticked passed 80 minutes, Ravalle scored a last ditch try.

TRY as they might, neither side realised any opportunities created in the first half of a game that may have lacked a score in the first half but showed plenty of passion in front of the crowd of 3,000. Petrarca's Mercier missed a penalty in the first quarter, and twice Cavalieri Prato's Vezzozi headed toward the try line and almost made it, but Petrarca's defence was too strong.
It was not until the 66th minute that the scoreboard saw any action, when Ngawini finally broke the homeside's defence and crossed the try line, but there was no conversion to follow. Time was fast running out when Prato again almost made it to the whitewash, but brute defence kept them from scoring again, and no doubt it was frustration that forced two consecutive penalties in the last few minutes of the game; this time Mercier's boot did not fail him and Petrarca stole the win.
